Church of St. Catejan, Goa, India

Not many would know that a Church in India has been modelled on the architectural pattern of St. Peter’s Church in Rome.

Dating to the second half of the 17th century it was built by Italian Friars. Hiding by the River Mandovi near the Divar Island Ferry, it often goes unnoticed due to the importance of The Basilica. But, today I was determined to explore the mystique of this unique place of worship.

Other than the main Altar the side Chapels are also very beautiful in carving and precision. The paintings I found here must date to the very era when the Church was made and have lasted the vagaries of the tropical weather in Goa, especially the heavy monsoons.

We must preserve this cultural heritage at all costs as it is the very Idea of India.

Blurb/Short text: “Forever Love, Forever One”, is a book written over many years. Sometimes, Time stops an event from unfolding till the right time comes and the right person comes in your life.

The book delves deep into the world of human emotions and feelings. It philosophizes upon Love, Impatience, Trinity, The Light, Seasons, The Creative Mind, Hope, The Art of Being A Queen in Public Life, and more before submitting to the beloved in the verse- “Life is beautiful because you touch it/ Songs arise in the heart because you live there. ”I really don’t know who powers my writing, because when I look back at it, the verse seems so new to me. I think and believe that the God above chooses a human being worthy to be His vessel and then grants him or her a gift. My gift is poetry, and I am deeply grateful to God for this immense blessing.

Innocent Times by Sandeep Silas

Hi friends, announcing the publication and launch of my book of stories of the growing-up age “Innocent Times” in Europe on 30-07-2022!

I must say, they are nostalgic, beautiful and full of the romance of childhood. They might be yours too!

Book language: English

Blurb/Short text: Each living being on earth grows up in body and intelligence after birth. However, God was more than kind to human beings when he was writing the destinies of all living creatures. Of all who grow, none was to pass through childhood as the child of Man. A pup was to become a dog, a lion cub was to grow up to be a magnificent beast, to rule in the jungle like a king, a foal was to become to a charming horse, a duckling was to become a duck, a baby whale was destined to roam and ride along the sea waves, and so on and so forth. But, none though given physical progression, was given the magic potion of emotion, imagination, affection, and above all the ability to communicate— expression. This is what makes the childhood of the son of man different from the rest. This is what makes him Man. “Innocent Times” comes to its readers with the innocence of a child, wearing the smile of a child, in the unsure yet certain footsteps of an affectionate child.

Rainbows Don’t Last Forever, unless… by Sandeep Silas

Hi friends, announcing the publication and launch of “Rainbows Don’t Last Forever, unless…” my book of poetry/lyrics in English, in Europe on 30-07-2022 !

Blurb/Short text: “Rainbows Don’t Last Forever, unless…”, I must confess was mostly written at a time of great turmoil in my life. As the winds grew harsh and biting, the storm following with fearsome intent, I stood strong like a tree in the Fall, releasing more colour and spreading more joy. In a phrase, I must say—I lived the season. I know that all these songs in this book will one day touch the soul of the people in the world and music composers will delight in them, with them. These are the songs of the people. You and I live similar lives, in more or small measure; with stronger or lesser intensity; with suppressed desires and hopes; and with stars shining in the darkness of the night. It is one thing to see a star and another to hold on to its twinkle. Find your star and let its soft light raise a glow in your life. I have just done that in “Rainbows Don’t Last Forever, unless…”.

Borough in the Mist, revealed… by Sandeep Silas

Hi friends, announcing  the  publication  and launch of  my  book  of  poetry  in  English “Borough in the Mist, revealed…” in  Europe on 30-07-2022!

ISBN-13: 978-613-9-42262-3

ISBN-10: 6139422620

EAN: 9786139422623

Book language: English

Blurb/Short text: The autumn leaves have started falling. Yellowed. Aged or matured? They have lived their puny lives on the tree. Like the sunlight they drank in everyday, they have become—the colour of the sun. In their freedom from life on the tree, is grace. They will rest in the grass, melt into the soil of collective consciousness and this energy will rise on another tree sometime in the future. So are my poems in this collection. They grew within. Each taking a different shape, a structure as definite and free as the thought, each speaking of the time it saw and soaked. They filled me up, as long as they grew on me. They ate of my flesh and drank of my blood. These are my creations. Eventually, they had to meet the earth on which I stand. New leaves must replace the earlier ones. Yet, they would belong to me in the sense the air, earth, water, fire, light and darkness belong to me. The endless cycle of ideas and words falling in composition the time ordains must go on. Like many others of my ilk, I love painting with words. But, the mere picture is not enough. I must see that it reflects, the seen and unseen. I must, like a seeker, seek the world of my dreams.

Sandesa- Message to the Beloved by Sandeep Silas “deep “

Hi friends, announcing my latest book of poetry in Hindi-Urdu (Devanagari, a collection of 101 poetic offerings in ghazal, nazm, song, and muktak (free verse) format, published on 3rd January 2022. Like its title says it is a message to the beloved. When you read it you will feel like it’s your heart that is sending the message to your beloved. Many times  you’ll feel that the beloved is equated to God. That’s the beauty when poetry is written personally in complete surrender to your heartthrob, but gets universalised in the big world out there.

Love is a blessing, feel it in the verses of Sandesa!

It’s up there on Amazon Kindle!

Description

Sandesa, is a cry of deep love, it is not just a message, but a call to the beloved to come and be united with the lover. The lover speaks to his beloved in verse in different poetic formats, mainly ghazal, nazm and songs. Sandesa has emerged from the depths of heart, from the intense emotional upsurge not normally felt unless one is in complete surrender to his beloved.

Sandesa has captured all the moments those breathed life between conversations, feelings, touch and prayerful love. It is a masterpiece of poetic love, true to its core. Sandesa is an immortal offering to the beloved, whom the lover celebrates to the heavens. You will appreciate the structure each poetic presentation follows, feel the melody, the rhythm, experience the joy of love, the longing, the deep desire of the heart, the submission to God and the Divine Mother. The poet talks to God seeking His blessings to resolve the dilemma of the beloved. The beloved in Hindi-Urdu poetry is equated to God and God to the beloved. You will find the different schools of poetry writing in Sandesa; the Sufi way, the Radha-Krishna spiritual love, songs based in the melody of Ragas, and sometimes free verse that runs with a powerful force as a story with a message.

Sandesa, is a poetry lovers delight, a treatise of love. It is a conversation between two people in love, with deep longing in heart. It is not just that, it is an authentic love story in verse, soaked in romance and all the feelings of complete surrender in love. Such divine love is rare to be experienced in these days and most uncommon to be felt. It is spiritual and uplifting. Above all it is true.

(Sweekaar Karo Meri Upaasna) by Sandeep Silas “deep”

(Laaya Genda Ke Phool Maa) by Sandeep Silas “Deep”
